Event Policy
By registering for the event, Attendee acknowledges that they have read this Event Policy and agrees to abide by all policies as outlined herein.
CANCELLATION POLICY: All cancellations must be submitted in writing in advance of the event date and may be subject to cancellation fees, based on the specific event. Registration transfers to a new attendee are accepted with prior written notice. No shows are still responsible for full payment of all registration fees unless an appropriate cancellation notice has been submitted to and accepted by FALA. In case of an emergency, a written notice of cancellation with explanation is required no later than 15 days following the scheduled event to be considered for a refund or credit. Attendees are responsible for cancelling or changing their own travel and hotel arrangements.
IF EVENT IS POSTPONED: If there are circumstances beyond our control (i.e., communicable disease threats, hurricanes, floods, fires, etc.) or other extreme circumstances, the event date may be postponed. All registrants will be notified in writing and attendees will have the option of being transferred to the new event date or requesting a refund. Substitutions will also be available with prior notice. The decision to postpone an event shall be at FALA’s sole discretion and does not entitle registrants to rights or damages resulting from the postponement.
IF EVENT IS CANCELLED: If the event must be cancelled, all registrants will be notified in writing and all prepaid registrations will be refunded to the payer’s account. The decision to cancel or postpone an event shall be at FALA’s sole discretion and does not entitle registrants to rights or damages resulting from the cancellation.
CONSENT CLAUSE: Attendee consents to FALA’s use of any and all photographic imagery and video footage taken of attendee at or pertaining to the event.
ATTENDEE LIABILITY WAIVER & ASSUMPTION OF RISK: Attendee assumes all risks and accepts sole responsibility for any injury (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that Attendee may experience or incur in connection with attending the event. Attendee releases, covenants not to sue, discharges, and holds harmless the Florida Assisted Living Association (“FALA”), its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from any such claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs, or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto.
HEALTH & SAFETY OF ATTENDEES: Attendee agrees to comply with all guidelines that may be implemented by FALA, the event venue, the CDC, or other guidance that may be issued by the Florida Department of Health, including, but not limited to, mask-wearing and social distancing requirements and restrictions on certain activities that carry higher health risks in order to protect the health and safety of all event attendees as much as possible.
